Stevenarrow
hello, just a quick question. I have a stock, 2-way, Crites 500 XO. I was wondering if there was an easy way to attenuate the output of the horn a couple dB. Can I just put a 1 or 2 ohm resistor in line with the positive lead? Thanks
moray james
https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/21969-heresy-crossover-mod-less-bright/ some info there what drivers are you wanting to attenuate? I expect this is a mid horn? You have to do some juggling to keep the xover point the same when you change crossover taps on the auto transformer. I am sure that Bob can help you with your question. Stevenarrow
I'll be attenuating a Faital Pro HF200. Used as a full range in a 2-way. I was hoping to avoid changing taps and cap values. Just heard from Bob, a non-inductive resistor in line should drop the level. Just wondering now if I have to make an L-pad and bridge a restore across the speaker terminals as well... djk
"Just wondering now if I have to make an L-pad and bridge a restore across the speaker terminals as well..." That might be the best simple solution in your situation. You might just want to try an LCR network in series with the driver that cuts back the region from 1.5Khz to 5Khz, that may be a better solution.
