cdsang
Ok I know this may sound silly, but what does SVS really stand for. I have been wondering for a while. Looked on the site and found nothing.
HornEd
Good question. Actually it is SV Subwoofers. The "S" and "V" stand for the two partners who met on the Internet due to their interest in Do-It-Yourself "Sonotube" style speakers. From time-to-time you will see postings by Klipsch owner Tom Vodhanel... who happens to be the "V" in SVS and supervises the design and building of all their subs. His partner, Ron Stimson, handles the business end of the organization. You can find the data you seek on their site at http://www.svsubwoofers.com/about.htm Since they have kept their overhead very low, their prices are lower than they are likely to be as their company grows to have the overhead that manufacturers with retail outlets (Like Klipsch) must cover. Enjoy! -HornED
