MCos,

I don't think that they are any better than Ultras but I could be wrong, I thingthat it's an artsy fartsy thing. They are beautiful though!

Good news, MCos! All of the sound characteristics between the Ultra and the SS are identical... the expensive difference is in the quality of the finish and some build ingredients. The Ultra was designed to have the best sound for the buck... and the SS was designed to be the speaker that spared no expense.

The neat thing is that SVS vowed to keep the sound quality of the Ultra equal to the SS. Once again, Sean goes to the head of the class! -HornED

HornEd,

Head of the class? Do I get a prize? If I do I would like it to be another set of Ultras please.

Be well.

Naturally!

Havy you ever compared the cone area of a SOny or Bose sub to that of dual 12's, 15's, 18's? It is amazing!

bose subwoofer... can you explain that?

i thought they just slapped some crappy 5.5" midranges into a box and called it a "bass module"

B0$e uses "tiny throw" mid-bass papier mache "woofers" with 10oz magnets in a band pass thin cheapo MDF cabinet and powers them with a sisi amp.

This is the famous Acoustic Me$$ "sub-midrange" they call tuneful and punchy "sub" LOL

B0$e owners should hear the evem smaller SUnfire Signature, they would probably complain the house is goint to fall apart. cwm27.gif

Why not make them listen to a Revel B15 and Aerial? More reality check for yuppie B0$e owners.
