sj993
haha... so I take it you had some on hand for the viewing??? well I'm sure I could "acquire" something if I really wanted to... it can't be that bad to see without taking anything. ------------------ I am Canadian!!! justin_tx_16
my theory... they were on acid when they made it, so it would all equal out if you took acid or shrooms when you watch it ------------------ -justin SoundWise promediatech@Klipsch.com /1-888-554-5665 - RA# 800-554-7724 ext 5s> Email Me
synthfreek
This was a great movie and should have been nominated for an Academy Award strictly for the cutting edge animation techniques used(I mean Johnny Neutron was nominated in the Animation category). Richard Linklater also directed Dazed and Confused, Slacker, The Newton Boys and Suburbia. The film was shot on film then they animated with what appears to be SquiggleVision(Dr. Katz anyone?). They're already ripping this style in commercials for Earthlink and Schlotzkie's. It's a VERY dialog driven philisophical movie filled with conspiracy theories and assumptions. It's basically the story of this young man and his attempt to "wake up". He seems to be stuck in a world of lucid dreamstate where he wanders from character to character seeking advice/wisdom/help waking up. But is HE asleep or everyone else? This is not a "don't have to think" movie nor is it one to watch to waste a few hours. Many of the scenes were VERY thought provoking while a few I just wanted to end. One thing's for sure...there's not another movie that has that look. That handful of Stropharia Cubensis Psilocybin sure helped figure it all out. ------------------ Outlaw 1050 A/V Receiver Rega P3 Turntable AMC CD8b CD Player Toshiba 3108 DVD Player Klipsch KG 4.2s(main) 2 Dynaco A-10/V IIs(centers) Cerwin Vega E-706s(rears) Cerwin Vega LW-12(sub) Parasound PPH-100 Phono Preamp Vampire Wire Digital Interconnects & Speaker Wire This message has been edited by synthfreek on 09-02-2002 at 01:20 PM

cluless
I only lasted about 30 minutes on this one, I didn't have any drugs. I'm afraid that if I did, the animation would have sent me to the looney bin, and the dialog would have had me contemplating my navel for the next 60 years. I may give this one a try at another time, when I'm feeling a bit more cosmic.

synthfreek
Uhhh. LSD and acid are the same thing. cluless
Justin - A poem from less They say your problem is inside your head Another hospital visit, a thing to dread Now your meds have hurt your liver The sight of pills makes it quiver We like to abuse you, cause you?re rich You take it well, with just a twitch Your typing?s fast, but your spelling sucks We all just wish, we had your bucks. Your spirit we envy, your health we don?t Belabor this more, I promise I won?t With this sorry-a** poem comes a flompy doodle And a hope for the health of your ailing noodle This message has been edited by cluless on 09-04-2002 at 01:39 PM
