moray james
good luck. should you find a copy please post one here for others who are interested. there is a copy of the RF82 listed here just so yo know. do you really need the schematic? cap values should be marked on the side of the caps used and inductors almost never get damaged. inductors can be measured but you will have to lift one leg from the circuit board to do so. a local electronics supply shop would probably measure them for you for free. you could also purchase an entire crossover with the terminal cup and jumpers with wiring for $65.00 that might be more cost effective of your time. http://reconingspeakers.com/product/klipsch-1012267-rf-82-sii-xover-input-cup/
cirtap99
Thanks for quick answer! The thing is that I want to change the crossovers caps and stuff. I am not the one whos going to do it and in order to make the right choices a copy of the crossover circuit is asked for. Me myself has absolutely no skill in electronics...but still fanatic to make the best of these speakers... moray james
As I said the capacitor values are all marked on the units so no worries there, film and foil caps cost more but sound better than metalized film capacitors do. Don't buy flat or oval caps as the uneven tension when winding them screws up the sound. Non inductive wire wound resistors sound very good. Just a suggestion, a set of RB75 will make for a more productive project or better yet a set of RC7 either way you will be getting a real compression driver (the RB75 and the RC7 both use the same compression driver and horn used in the RF7) and the largest and best horn in the Reference stable. I think that would be a better investment than working on a pair of RB81 ll which by comparison has only a toy tweeter driver. Also don't expect that you will be able to recoup your investment in time and materials when selling a modified set of Klipsch you would be better of selling them reverted to stock and then selling the networks alone. These types of mods are done for your own personal satisfaction. That is why I suggest you start with the best small RB Klipsch that there is (IMO that would be the RC7). https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/107475-crossover-upgrade-on-rb-75/ Klipsch RC7 Data.pdf Klipsch RC-7 diagram.pdf
mustang guy
I found a picture of the network here on the forums: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/113804-klipsch-crossovers/?p=1766284 If this is a 1 sided circuit board, then there are only 2 caps unless that big round yellow thing in the center is a cap. I own RF-7ii's and RB-81ii's; I can tell you that the 81's can hold their own against the 7's at normal listening levels. They're no slouch. They're no slouch. fine and I am glad you are happy with your RB81 ll, but I don't see what that has to do with my observations? The RB75 and the RC7 both use the same 1.75 Inch diaphragm pro compression driver as the RF7, the larger diaphragm results in lower distortion and greater output capability. That means that for any given level of playback that the larger compression driver will have about half the distortion of the smaller one, no contest. The larger horn will hold polar patterns to a lower frequency than a smaller horn can and that also makes for a better sounding loudspeaker. These are facts. Not saying anything about the RB81ll that's not true, just that if the OP intends to buy a bunch of expensive parts and pay to have his networks rebuilt then why not go for it and get the best possible two way (or 2.5 way) platform to build upon that he can to optimize the return of his invested dollar? He is doing all of this to get the best performance that he can. For all I know he may not be in a position to buy a set of RB75 right now. The RB75 is a superior loudspeaker when compared to the RB81 ll. If it were my choice I would sell the RB81 ll and find a used set of RB75 or even consider buying some/all of the parts new. A used set of RF35 would get him four of the same woofers used in the RB75 then he only needs tweeters horns xovers and some cabinets. There are options, even a sick pair of RB75 and repair/upgrade. You can save a considerable amount of money by switching to the Driver used in the RF7 ll, hot sure if the horn and mount is the same but those parts are available . The RF7 ll drivers are also 1.75" diaphragms but about 80.00 dollars cheaper each. http://reconingspeakers.com/product/klipsch-k-67-dv-tweeter-for-rf-7-128027/ http://reconingspeakers.com/product/klipsch-rf-7-sii-trim-for-horn-lens-1012264/ http://reconingspeakers.com/product/klipsch-rf-7-sii-horn-lens-1011762/ http://reconingspeakers.com/product/klipsch-rb-35-rb-75-8-woofer-120861/ closest available part will require some adjustment. http://reconingspeakers.com/product/klipsch-1011223-tweeter-k-701-g-rf-7-sii-rc-64-sii/ Edited March 14, 2016 by moray james
