rjsilva
I was reading some threads about DeanG's crossover upgrade for the RF-7s. I find the RB-75s to already be quite smooth in the treble and I'm not really interested in making a change in the design the crossover, however when reading these threads I see that part of the upgrade was in the high quality components used. Does anyone have thoughts on whether it'd be worthwhile to upgrade any of the components on the RB-75 crossover? If so, which ones and with what? Thanks. Deang
The "upgrade" part with the RF-7/RC-7 is the better caps and resistors. The "mod" is a value adjustment to the resistor in the LCR. I personally believe it's worth it to upgrade the parts regardless of the speaker. I prefer Kimbers or Auricaps in series with the HF driver, and Janzten Crosscaps in any parallel circuits. Zen Traveler
Hey Dean...Do you upgrade RB-75 crossovers? I have a pair I would like to try if you think it worthwhile. I also have an extra RC-7 that I am thinking about doing.Thanks.
Zen Traveler
Has anyone had their RB-75s crossovers done by dean? I am also reconsidering geting my RF-7s done, but have 2 pairs of RB-75s (and an additional set of crossovers) and an extra RC-7 that I want to play around with first. Deang
Yeah, I do the mighty-mini RB-75. No mod, I just replace the caps and resistors on the HF board.
Zen Traveler
Thanks Dean. I may get with you after the beginning of the year and given trey's comment on another thread, I may break down and ask you to do my RF-7s as well.
