JerryB
I just placed my Klipsch Cornwalls next to my new 40 inch Sony TV and it distorted the first 4 inches of my picture. The local technician said that it was because the speakers are not shielded. Any suggestions?
Malcolm
Moving the speakers farther away from the TV is the best solution. If that is not feasible, you might try angling them a bit or moving them forward or back, or up or down, to move the magnetic field from the speakers away from the critical part of the TV. My guess is the woofer is probably the culprit. Bucking magnets might help some.
erdric
If you can't move the speakers away from the TV then call 1-800-klipsch and ask Trey Cannon about bucking magnets. I just installed a pair on the woofers of my Forte II's and it solved my distortion problem. Good luck.

Dave in Nashville
Jerry: I just finished rebuilding a set of Heresy speakers. One of the speakers will be used as a center channel between a set of LaScalas. While ordering a replacement woofer, I also was able to order a 32oz "bucking" magnet from Klipsch. I epoxied the magnet to the back of the new woofer magnet (be sure the magnets repell each other)and then installed the new woofer. Now, I can put that speaker anywhere near the TV that I want and there is absolutely no discoloration. When I move the "unbucked" speaker near the TV, the discoloration begins at about two feet. If I can do this mod, so can you. Give it a try. Dave
