DTS is compressed less than DD and in theory should sound more natural. I have switched between DD and DTS many times while watching a movie or concert and have found that the volume is usually less on DTS that on DD. I prefer DTS over DD and try to purchase DTS when available. You may have the component cables mixed up this could cause the TV to go into video mute. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Also most VCRs do not have a component video output. The older Denons would sense which video input (S video, composite, or component )was active and put the OSD on the same type output. If it had video on 2 of the video inputs say S video and composite at the same time it would default to S video output only.

It was not clear to me, did you get the DD 5,1 and DTS 5.1 working ? . I have the same Denon receiver (AVR-3801) and if you still need help I can tell you ever thing you need to do to get it working. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Kerry

In the Analog mode when watching live TV you can select between NEO:6 or Dolby Pro Logic. This is NOT Digital surround like Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS 6.1 Also in the NEO:6 you can select Music or Cinema mode. I like the Music mode for regular TV watching. The Cinema mode puts more of the sound in the front center speaker and the Music mode puts most of the sound to the front Right and left speakers. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> On my Denon receiver I can select between Neo:6 and Dolby Pro Logic using the MODE button on the remote. If you are watching a DVD that has both a Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 6.1 sound track you need to select which you want in the DVD player menu, Not the Denon receiver. If you Denon receiver is set to Auto select that's all you need to do.

What are you using to tune in the TV signal?

Buzz in the audio that changes with the brightness or contrast level of the video signal is a common problem. It most likely is a problem with the unit that demodulates the Video/audio signal i.e. the TV, VCR, TIVO, SATELLITE RECEIVER. It can also be an over modulation of the Video from the TV station itself. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Try muting the audio off with the remote, If the buzz stops, the problem is not coupling into the speaker wires or crossover, but rather in the Audio itself. If the buzz is in the Audio and caused by the demodulator try a different source to provide the video/audio signal. Example switch from using the TV as the tuner and use the VCR or SATELLITE RECEIVER as the tuner.

First of all they look like Honduran Rosewood. The year made is 1985. The type label looks like it has been altered. I don't think Klipsch offered Brazilian Rosewood in 1985. But in my opinion on $2450 for Rosewood Khorn is a good deal.
