LarryC
The Oct. 31 New York Times Business section has an article, "Listening Clubs Enthrall London's Audiophiles," which prominently mentions Klipsch and very favorably mentions Klipsch La Scala speakers at the club's recent Classic Album meeting. The article gives a short history of hi-fi loft parties in NYC in the 70's and 89's held by David Mancuso, who helped develop the current Lucky Cloud system in London. The article emphasizes tube amps and large speaker systems, mentioning Klipsch very favorably more than once. Colleen Murphy, an American DJ who moved to London, began Classic Album Sundays there. "The tactile charm and full sound of vinyl are here to stay," the author writes. Elsewhere in London, the Brilliant Corners restaurant has "large floor-standing speakers by Klipsch" in each corner (what could those be??). The owner said "I hope this audiophile movement questions ... what kind of sound systems are installed in public spaces." Another location has rare analog recording equipment, like a Scully vinyl-cutting lathe, and a Studer C37 tape recorder, one of only two in existence. "in a world that doesn't linger to long on anything, we're trying to bring a bit of ritual back into listening to music"
wvu80
Thank you for the heads up on the article. This is the third thread started on this topic since this morning. It's a cool topic, I'm just not sure which one is primary.

I think we're still sorting out where to post things since the "Lounge" was created. 2-Channel used to be the place to do it by well-established custom, but reorganizing the forum with new places to post in can be confusing.
