What you're probably seeing is wide angle lens distortion.  The speaker was photographed from a low angle looking up, to emphasize its mighty size, so that caused the converging verticals (the top appears narrower than the bottom, though we know it has straight sides),  At the same time, straight lines near the edge of an image taken with a wide-angle lens are often distorted.  They can be curved outwards (barrel distortion) or inwards (pincushion distortion).  Most people don't notice, but then most people don't buy Jubilees.
