jrgiscool
I am a longtime lurker and value the opinion of all u experienced board members. I know this is a frequent question however I have not seen this combination mentioned before. I am looking to pair a center channel with a pair of not to common RVX54's....... I'm not sure if I should go with a RC 62II or the RP 440's, im leaning towards the RP440's however I think the consensus opinion here will be to go with the RC 62's........Thanks. willland
Jrgiscool, Welcome to the forum. As you may already know, the RVX-42 is the "matching" center channel with your RVX-54's. With that said, I think the 42 is a nice speaker when used in LCR(triple 42's) but a bit underwhelming when mated up to the much larger RVX-54's. I know the RC-62 sounds pretty good with 54's and I'll bet about the same with the RC-62II. I have not heard the new RP-440C nor have I heard any other Premiere models. Scrappydue
never heard those speakers. the 440 will be a bit more laid back compared to the 62ii. the 62ii is the better center of the two in my opinion. but the 440 might look and sound better with your particular speakers. tough call. jrgiscool
Thanks for both of your comments, they were each exactly what I had been thinking. I have chosen to go with the 440C mostly due to both room size and asthetics. BTW, I've always been a little curious as to the lack of ink on the RVX54, I traded up/down from a pair of Forte's and have never regreted the decision. Although they do look like they may have been reserected to some degree in the form of the RP440. Thanks Happy Holidays to all.
