m00n
Ok, I have heard the term THX reference levels. Can somone shoot me a URL to where I can find out more about the subject? Can this be achieved without having a THX certified receiver such as my H/K and will the R7's acieve this. I remember a LOOOOOOONG time ago there was a discussion on THX, but that was way back when I was still suckling the teet of newbieness. I have since graduated to toddler stage and want to take on trying to understand more about THX and what not. ------------------ m00nsCinema to be m00ns current toys FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Harman Kardon DVD-50(DD, DTS) VIDEO: InFocus ScreenPlay DLP Projector COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOX with Monster cable for that 5.1 Dolby Digitial surroundc> f>

Malcolm
There is a THX product called Optimode. It is comprised of audio and video setup signals recorded on a DVD that let you set up your system for that particular movie so that your experience will be as close to what the director intended. One of the tests is pink noise you use to set the volume of each of your speakers to a reference level, 75 dB if I recall correctly. Try a search on the THX site for "Optimode"
