avguytx Posted September 6, 2017 Share Posted September 6, 2017 I bought a new Onkyo P-3000R to replace a fully modded out Carver C-1 preamp and have been thoroughly happy with all the digital inputs and built in dual DAC. It sounds great to my ears and it was more about ease of use and having the features I wanted as I wouldn't be able to hear the difference in an even higher end pre. I like the tone controls IF I need them, would rather have remote control versus having to get up every single time, like having all the digital and analog connections going into one unit instead of multiples, etc, etc. But that's just me.
