Kain
I just found out that in my home theater room, the one of the side walls isn't a "real" wall. It is hollow and not made of concrete. Due to this, I don't think the screws will hold on the RS-7 on the side wall. Due to this, I'll have to place the RS-7s on the back wall. Will this be okay? How much of a disadvantage will this cause by placing the RS-7s on the back wall rather than on the side wall?
NOZ
Find the stud in the false wall and anchor it there. Don't have one facing forward and one sideways.
Kain
Yeah, I won't have one facing forward and the other sideways. I meant that I was going to place both RS-7s on the back wall.
boa12
kain, then where are you going to put the new set of rc-7 rear surround?
Kain
Hehe. Well, we bought a new house and it will be completed in July 2003. There I can probably place the surrounds on the sides.
Kain
So, what's the verdict? Will it still sound good with the surrounds on the back wall rather than on the side walls?
m00n
Dude, just build some stands for them that will stay flush up against the side walls.
NOZ
It won't sound as good on the rear wall, but would be ok until you move to your new place.
Kain
Nevermind, I think I found a way to place the surrounds on the side walls. I'll just have to re-arrange my home theater setup in the room, i.e. make it face in another direction. Thank anyway!
