Coytee
I know so little about this Airport item, we'll call it zero. Here's the setup (but first, a copy paste since I don't understand how some of this relates) Output Levels measurements top at 0 dBFS Volts dBV 200 kΩ load 1.991 V 5.98 dBV 600 Ω load 1.5885 V 4.02 dBV 300 Ω load 1.3216 V 2.42 dBV This is the same as a standard CD player (2 V) and 6 dB more than an iOS device (1 V). Output Source Impedance measurements top 152 Ω. Can this item (which I presume has RCA outputs) be connected directly to a McIntosh amp MC-152 and essentially use this as a preamp? I once attached a CD player directly to my amp (back when I had Khorns) and the sound was clearly better sounding.....but I had no volume control nor did I have any means to change my inputs lest I rewire things every time......so I put my preamp back in. tube fanatic
Yes, it should work fine. It has a very low output impedance so the direct connection to the amp will be fine. Also, its maximum output voltage is far greater than what you will need to drive the amp to full output power. Maynard
Coytee
Excellent and thank you! This isn't for myself so I'll direct the interested party to read this. (I am so behind the times on these gadgets and gizmo's)
