WMcD Posted November 23, 2002 Share Posted November 23, 2002 The new Bond movie is worth seeing and listening too. It reminded me a bit of the original ones, as it should. There was a lot of the John Barry music covered and tributes to the scenes and gadgets. Settings were sophisticated and exotic. It was less campy than many recent flicks in the franchise. Somehow, John Cleese made sense as Q. Hard to believe. A relatively complex plot. A peeve is that the theme song by Madonna did not live up to her talents. In the setting of its time, Goldfinger, is unbeatable. But this was fairly good. Gil Edit: I see Kain64 started a thread. I should have looked farther down before starting a new post. JasN00b Posted November 23, 2002 Share Posted November 23, 2002 yea very good movie i went to a theater with quality digital sound *bullets wizzing around head* the guy in front of me actually ducked at one point, hehe. but good movie, definitly. granted its no Matrix... but still damned fun the girl i was planning to go with had to cancel, so i brought my friend. meh. still good movie. boa12 Posted November 25, 2002 Share Posted November 25, 2002 a reviewer i believe at the NY Times said something like this was probably the best bond flick since "the spy who loved me". that seems to say a lot. & it even beat the new harry potter already. i'll have to try to see this on the big screen.
