m00n
Is anyone here familiar with their music and if so, does all their music sound pretty much the same as Justified and Ancient?
synthfreek
Hi! I'm familiar with The KLF and VERY familiar with The Orb(a FANTASTIC "ambient-house" act derived from Jimmy Cauty's(KLF) collaborator Alex Patterson). KLF first got in the news when they tried to release an album called 1987 that had so many illegal samples all copies were recalled and destroyed. They wrote an infamous book about selling yourself out, writing a hit song, etc. as kind of a big in-joke. I think they also burned 1,000,000 pds at their heyday just as a publicity stunt. They were nuts. Their album titled CHILL OUT is one of the best albums in the ambient genre period. It recreates a drive across the southern US. VERY cool stuff and very unlike their 3AM Eternal/White Room dance stuff. Anyone into Pink Floyd should check out The Orb-Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld and the album UFOrb. Cross Jarre, Tangerine Dream & Floyd and you get The Orb.
m00n
Tangerine Dream? Wow, I thought I was the only one. I have a about 8 or 9 TD CD's... I have not listened to it in a while. I should break them out now that I have a nice system to listen to them on.

bkrop
If you like Tangerine Dream you should give Kraftwerk a listen, especially Autobahn!
m00n
Thanks for the heads up, I will look for them. Another band/musician I really enjoy is David Arkenstone. Different than Tangerine Dream. He ranges from Celtic to (for the lack of a better term) African sufari.
