hyperlitemike
Hi guys, loyal Klipsch customer here all the way from New Zealand. I am currently trying to decide on what new center channel to run, I have just upgraded my reference series gear to the RP line. I have been running my new amp, Yamaha RXA2080 and rp8000's in for about a month now, and we are not far off moving into a new house that I will be installing pro series 6.5 inch speakers into the ceiling and walls, for surrounds at atmos essentially. My question is, what center can you all recommend and why, there are 3 options, rp404c, rp504c, and rp600c, I have never owned a 4 woofer center before, so can anyone tell me if they feel they are better or no different. My preference is probably the 600c, as the woofers match the surrounds etc, and a little more compact unit, but I am more than open to the others if the majority thinks they are superior. Ceptorman
The best matching center is the RP504c, then the RP404c. The 4 woofer design is supposed to have better low end dispersion. The best center for the RP8000 is a 3rd RP8000, but that's not practical for most people. Good luck on your new HT.
Rod Sheridan
The 404C physically were the best choice for me. They're the center channel between a pair of Lascala's. They do a very good job, really noticeable with TV/Movies.
