hi folks

Just thought i would mention the A 402 on Ebay

was one of the nicest 40w/ch amps going

Dual power supplies,.all discreet inside.

ALso ,there.. a very well maintained CIT 16/a

all black with LED's and VERY clean inside.

and a very real 165w/ch

cheers,..

H/K 401 anx 402 were decent amps in their time...but I could give a number of recommendations for amps that blow the Citation 16 away...from that era. Its predecessor, the Citation 11/12 pre-amp/amp combo was pretty good...lower power than the 16...and much better sound. If you want comparable power to the Citation 16 in a fantastic sounding amp...IMHO the BEST S/S amp of that era...go for a Dynaco Stereo 400 instead!!

the Dynaco 400is one that i never hooked up at

home.

and i worked for a store once that carried all

that stuff

dynaco,accuphase,harmankardon,marantz,mcintosh

phase linear, hafler, and so on .........

was like being in a candy shop ...i guess

Have had only one dynaco at home a sca80Q

it was my aunts...that i borrowed for a trial.

not bad,.. but still prefer the a402

the dynaco sounded bright with my 82 cornwall.

will most likely p/u another cit 16/a ,just

for the sake of replacing the one that grew

legs a few yrs back,..and dissapeered from my living room.

as for my favorite amp

Its a Mcintosh MC2002.

but one thing at a time

horns first.....

evrything else comes after....
