Kyle H
I just purchased the R12SW and was wondering if I'm going to be able to hook it up to my older receiver which is the Onkyo HT-R340? https://www.manualslib.com/manual/115341/Onkyo-Ht-S3100.html?page=10#manual Is it possible to use the RCA connections on the R12SW to the push connection on the back of the receiver?

willland
@Kyle H, Welcome to the forum. Yes it will. Your AVR has a subwoofer preout. Purple input just left of center at lower half. Bill
Kyle H
Ok I wasn't sure because I was under the impression that those connections were the inputs where you would connect a DVD or Blu-ray player with 5.1 channel analog audio outputs. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the help! Yes, Bill knows all AVRs have outputs to accommodate subs, else, what's the point. Thanks!

Kyle H
So it turns out that is an input only for analog audio from a DVD/Bluray player. The receiver only has outputs for a passive sub. For anyone else wondering I'm going to try an rca adapter like this one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C29VBHL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_70ZY8KN39QSYXPE9MQM6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Am I in danger of damaging the sub? No you need an lfe, or RCA connection. The termination not wire in your case. End to end RCA for subs. Do a search here until @willland looks. Your manual your friend. thanks... billybob
Sorry, is your sub a passive? Thanks!
willland
"So it turns out that is an input only for analog audio from a DVD/Bluray player." You are correct, by bad. I should have picked a photo that was closer up to read. 9 hours ago, billybob said: Bill is the man. Let us know if something else. Definitely not this time.
