900seca
White Ash KG3.5's with no sound in one tweeter, Ser# 172493028 per the ID plate., it's a bad crossover. Crossover ID is KG1/KG3? and is mounted on the cabinet, not on the main terminal plate like all KG3.5 crossovers I am able to find. Driver ID's are too poorly printed to make out but the entire speaker system + drivers look identical to every 3.5 I've found. Can I use the 3.5 xovers or do I need the kg1/kg3's? TY... Deang
Well, you have 3.5’s, so networks for 3.5’s is what you should use. Are your current networks on PCB? If so, it’s not unusual to use the same PCB for multiple models. Same layout, different part values.
dtr20
More than likely the tweeter died rather than the crossover. Carefully swap the tweeters from the speakers and listen to them. If the problem followed the tweeter, the tweeter is bad. If the problem stayed in the speaker, the the crossover has an issue. If it's the crossover, recapping should fix the issue. If it's the tweeter, I'd recommend buying a pair of titanium tweeter diaphragms from Crites Speakers and replacing both tweeter diaphragms. This should result in better sound quality.
