quig0028
I'm wondering if there is any way to remove the black grill from my Heresy speakers to be able to clean the woofer cone area or are they permanently fixed in place? Any pointers on how to clean these up would be super appreciated.
Marvel
The back of the cabinet is removable... after removing, you would have to remove the woofer screws and pull it out. Those are heavy paper cones, so a fairly stiff, small paint brush can be used to get most of the dust off. To go further, if the speaker cone has faded spots... past recommendations are varied. Use liquid black shoe polish (obviously, you don't saturate the cones, and really make sure it's dry before playing again). Years ago, one of the members used a SEM vinyl spray paint. VERY light coat until even. Some argue it will change the specs of the woofer. Maybe, probably, you probably wouldn't notice. Dusting may be sufficient.
