Moh Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Speakers are often described as bright, forward or laid back. Is the main difference the amount of treble . Can Bright/forward speakers be described as laid back if treble is turned down...or is there more to it (like sound stage etc.) 1 Quote
Racer X Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Um, yeah, there can be more to it. Some systems can be hard and forward, flat. I believe my sound is soft and deep, with depth and body as it improves. Some may hear differently or have different values, which can also change over time. Sound stage may refer to how wide, tall an image is, like how far it extends beyond speakers or strength of center image. Room treatment, and careful speaker placement will probably get you the most benefit for improvement, but is kind of boring compared to amps and speakers. 1 Quote
