Dennis D.
Hi all! I'm looking for advices to find proper amplifier for my Klipsch R-14M for movies in a rather small room. I was using budget Pioneer 515 - okay but 1) I got rid of multichannel 2) this receiver is kind of 'lifeless' so I wish to have a good stereo rig (watching mostly vintage classics stereo/mono with more dialogues and music, less FX. I'm unconcerned about sound effects). Since room is small, I'm close to projection screen and speakers, R-14M are more than enough. So I'd love to have better vintage sound. Amplifier alone or with radio (Marantz receiver?) perhaps up to $500 used... but with magic in sound and proper wattage. Sweet, fat, detailed and powerful enough. (I just have not a clue what would be 'enough' for R-14M - 50W? 100?) From 70's Sugden or 90's like Rotels or Adcom... Edited October 8, 2022 by Dennis D. MicroMara
You may have a look at the Marantz PM 8006 as sec.hand , don´t go for a vintage because they need to be refurbished with caps etc. The PM 8006 has a phono stage as well .
