Noob McNooberson
Hello, I need help matching speakers for 5.1 setup. How would this sound? Option 1: Fronts: R-820F Center: RP-440C Surrounds: RP-160M Will add Subwoofer at some point. With this setup I'm concerned the center tone won't match the fronts. Or should I cancel my R-820F fronts on order and go with the following: Option 2: Fronts: RP-160M Center: RP-440C Surrounds: RP-160M Add Subwoofer. Right now I have one set of RP-160M's that I'm using in a stereo setup. I probably have till Monday to cancel my R-820F fronts order if they will not match very well. Option 1 would be the preferred setup if you think it will sound okay. I like my fronts to be more full range versus my surrounds. The R-820F's are on sale right now. That's why I went with them over another pair of RP-160M's. I really love the RP-160M's for their great value. Am I losing anything by going with R instead of RF for the fronts in Option 1? Thank you.

Amazon has the RP-280's on sale now they are a perfect match for the 160's: https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-RP-280F-Floorstanding-Speaker-Ebony/dp/B00S2N4E1I
rebuy
The RP's have completely different drivers, construction and Quality. The RP's are superior to the R's in every way. I'm running a pair of the 160's as my center channel. They sound very nice. RP's over the R series everyday.
