devlin24
So my question is are they really the same model? I have found them both on ebay and the 3802 is used but is going fo about 450. The 1082 is new for a buy now price of 525. So what do you guys think. Thanks
devlin24
Ok, so i went on the denon websight and they do seem to be the same.... But still not really sure. How about the prices? Which sounds like a better deal? thanks again
dblue
They are not the same. The 1802 on Denon's website is actually mis-labeled. It is describing the 3802. The 3802 is far superior. It is the better deal.
devlin24
See, thats what i am talking about. I dont think it is mislabled. They still have the 1802 in the discontinued area. Besides the 1802 wouldn't have a msrp of $999. I have been on other sights (like audioreview) and some people put things like "I just bought the avr-1082(3802) and love it." So I am just a bit confused. I know you guys the know it alls so i came here to find the real answers.
dougdrake
I believe the 1082 is the version that is labeled for the mass retailers, such as Sears, while the 3802 is for their "hi end" retailers. Same basic machine, with different labels to protect the hi end dealers. This is fairly common with mid-fi devices. Yamaha does it with their models at Best Buy. proudestmonkey
actually the 1082 is the derritive piece of the 3802, it is the exact same piece, the 1082 is current this year since the 3803 came out.
