  1. Dave Matthews Band, Live in Central Park
  2. the sc1 would work fine, i would suggest a rc25. there really is no "matched" center channel for your inwalls, the rc25 sounds great though.
  3. 1) the video upconversion works great 2) the 3803 has 100 mHz video switching
  4. i think that if your best bet would be to build a new wall, you are losing a lot of bass having your front l/r that far away from a wall.
  5. it just amazes me how people will pay thousands of dollars on high end piece of refurbed equipment with no warrenty from a b.s. company like ecost. Now the real questions is why dosent everyone buy from there local dealer?? spend a little extra $$ have a brand new piece of equipment, with a full warrenty. Plus i am sure that when you purchase the product online that you expect your local dealer to answer questions for you. well i gtg buy some refurbed underwear on ebay (it has a warrenty though)
  6. here are some of the prices rf35 $1000/pr rs35 $650/pr rs25 $500/pr that is all i know of now, i will get the prices when i go back to work and let you guys know.
  7. actually the 1082 is the derritive piece of the 3802, it is the exact same piece, the 1082 is current this year since the 3803 came out.
  8. i would do the monster power... i have had pieces from both companies and the monster gave me a much better picture and i heard sounds in music that i have never heard before, it is an awesome piece of equipment (i dont know the model of mine but it is stage 2 clean power). thanks joe
  9. Thats good to hear, what are you thinking about getting??
  10. where do you live?? i would be able to get you both items. brand new. joe
  11. i would have to go with the denon, the elite receiver is a great piece, but with the processing power and features i think the denon edges out the elite receiver. i have been very pleased with my receiver. joe
  12. yes the sound in gladiator is great...esp the scene where that ball and chain is whipping around through the speakers....great 6.1 demo and of course, the movie that started being interested surround sound, Jurrasic Park. feeling the footsteps in your room is like your right there....well i have to go watch that now. joe
  13. fyi, the floor spikes will run you about $10 from klipsch joe
  14. just remeber that bose are the best marketers in the world, i read that 85% of all bose sales happen before people even listen to them. its amazing how they can take $1 worth of plastic along with 2 1.5" paper midranges and sell it for $1200 complete surround system. just a pair of klipsch bookshelfs (or rf5's if you want to go crazy ) in virtual surround on your amp will sound much better. just my 2 cents joe
  15. or you could try 1 pr sb1 $240 1 pr ss.5 $250 (not white of course) 1 sc.5 $200 add the sub later, get better speakers fisrt or you could try the paradigm cinema 70 package with 8 inch sub that rocks for $750 that should sound very good.
  16. FMF, At the store i work at we sell paradigm and klipsch. They are both very fine speakers. I just went with the rf5's myself and i compared them to studio 60's for months. i think the rf5's sound more natural and clearer compared to the rf3's, the bigger drivers and bigger horn really make a difference. the paradigms are also great, after i volume matched the paradigms with the klipsch i noticed that the klipsch have a more "direst sound" and the paradigms spread the sound out more, of course that is what makes klipsch, klipsch. with the paradigms you can hear a nasally sound from the midrange a the tweeter calls attention to itself throughout certain tracks. remember with the rf5's 99 db sentivity rating ayou will have a lot more sound than the paradigm speakers, you really need a seperate amp to make the paradigm speakers have any bass. as with demo cd's, bring what YOU listen to, if you dont have any cd's with female vocals in it, it must mean that you dont listen to that type of music. you should really demo cds that you are familiar with and will listen to. there are a lot of cds that wow people but very few people will listen to that music. but if you want to be wowed, ask your salesmen if he has a monster cable cd called "monster blues" track 5 is killer. also if you happen to have dave matthews band "busted stuff" (if you dont you SHOULD) listen to bartender or grey street. if the rf5's sound like they have too much trebble and not enough bass/midrange, the speakers are not broken in, 99% of the time speakers are not broken in on the showroom floor because they are usually played about 30 min a week (esp expensive speakers since not many people buy them). paradigms break in fairly easily. Whew, im tired now, way too much typing @ 12:30 am. Good luck with your speaker quest. Joe (and if you happen to live around fort wayne, indiana swing by my store and i would be glad to show you the difference!!)
  17. you can get a phono preamp (about $30) and it works great, plus there will be a lot less confusion behind your grear, i bet that is a mess!! joe
  18. I would do the yamaha dvdc920, it is a 5 disc changer (that actually plays through ALL of your music cds, it dosent stop after each disc is done) It has dvd-audio and progressive scan wtih the farjouda dcdi chip inside, the picture is great, it sounds amazing and its only $399 (3 months ago it was $599!). joe
  19. I was wondering what everyones favortie dvd for sound is??
  20. I would have to say go with this system RF3 $750/pr RC3 $330 RS3 $500/pr That would put you at your budget, i know it is without a sub but you can always add that on later. i would be a lot happier with this setup minus the sub. and you can always wheel and deal with your salesman to work on the package price with the sub. joe
  21. actually according to thx ultra 2 specs the rear surrounds should be direct radiating and should be placed 4 ft apart. i would do the rb5's away from the wall or maybe 2 rc7's. joe
  22. I like the toshiba SD4800, it is progressive scan and has dvd audio, the picture is great for a $200 dollar player, and it sounds great. i mean its no apex but not many people can afford those. joe
  23. I was wodndering if there were any reviews, articles, or any info on this setup...i am getting very excited!!!
  24. SB2's discontinued!!! no, i thnink not, gotta love salesstaff trying to add klipsch sales to their klipsch contest before the deadline. have you tried other stores?? or maybe get them to knock off money of the sb3's?? dont get the sb1's, they are great speakers but the sb2's will give you much fuller sound.
