frescagod
I have 2.1's right now, and i'd like some sort of surround sound going on while i'm watching DVDs, so i'm looking at the 4.1 deal on circuit city. When i go home for spring break, i want to bring my speakers home so i can enjoy some decent sound, but i don't need all four sats at home. Can you plug in only the front sats and still listen to the 4.1s (effectively making it a 2.1 system), or do you have to have all four sats plugged in? pinipig523
i believe that it would still work with only 2 satellites plugged in.
pHEnomIC69
Yes you can do this, It will work with no speakers as long as the preamp is plugged in. When I go to lan parties and I don't wanna use headphones, I just take my sub and front two speakers. Works fine, at lan parties, other peoples computer make up for your rear surrounds hehe. Bohemian_Rhapsody
I think you should buy another set of 2.1s rather than buying a 4.1 system. The 2.1s are far better than the 4.1s in my opinion, louder volume and bass, and no limiter thingie. The volume output by 2.1s at 12'o clock is the max volume output by 4.1s sadly. And when you remove the rear sats you'd be left with even lesser volume. I remember Justin talking about an authorized dealer who sells the 2.1s for $90..... you'd have to ask him for more info.
