Invidiosulus
I just tried out the used K-55-V I got on ebay for $5. It is running in one of my heresies right now but is propably just going to sit on the shelf in case I ever need a replacement. The one I just bought is the model with the spring clips, I have seen some posts on here making comments as how the ones with the solder terminals are better. To what degree do these differ? The Drivers that came in my Heresies(1981) are the solder type and listening to them side by side with the spring clip model I don't know that I can hear a difference. Oh well I figure even for the spring clip model $5 is not too bad a deal. Peace, Josh
michael hurd
I think at a measly $5 bucks, a k-55-v is an awesome deal that you just couldn't pass up. Now all you need is to find a couple of k-77-m tweeters for a decent price like that. Even if you don't end up needing them, maybe someone else on this forum will need them. Al Klappenberger
Josh, The K55 with the solder terminals has a two-piece phase plug. The sprint terminal job is a one-piece phase plug. That gives it a smoother frequency response. The later version also doesn't have the 9 KHz gitch of the older one. The "Dope from Hope" that released that information stated that the difference is hard to hear. You can really see it on a freqency response plot though. Al K.
