msaiba
I want to bi-wire my RF-3s from a B&K ST202 amp, please tell me how can I do that and what kind of connectors I need to buy. I went to Radio Shack and asked one of the reps about a pair of bi-wire connects to my speakers he couldn't understand what I am asking. Thanks. dougdrake
You can either buy premade bi-wire cables sets, or just use two separate pairs of speaker wire. If there isn't room on the binding post on your amp for both wires, get stacking banana plugs that allow a banana plug to be connected to the back of the banana plug that goes into the binding post. If you don't find any locally, you can get them at www.partsexpress.com. At the speaker end, remove the gold metal straps between the upper and lower sets of binding posts, then connect one pair of speaker wires to each set of binding posts. msaiba
Thanks for the response, does it (bi-wiring) improve the sound ???
dougdrake
Why do you want to bi-wire? Only your ears will tell if it improves the sound -- some say yes, some say no. DD

fabulousfrankie
I bi-wired my RF-3II and RC-3II using two runs of 16g Monster XP, I had the extra wire so I thought "why not, it certainly can't hurt anything." I didn't notice a difference so I just left it the way it was. The only thing I can see that's beneficial from bi-wiring is it's acting like thicker speakers wire.
