andre-k
I have an onkyo tx-sr500 reciever and i am thinking abount adding the klipsh synergy floor speakers for my front two channels. my question is if my 65watts by 5 onkyo enough power to handle the klipsh speakers or am i just wasting my money? I was also looking into the athena floorspeakers as well. Right now I am running the onkyo 6 piece set. They were about 300 for the set cant remember the model name. Any advice would be appreciated. dougdrake
Welcome aboard! Klipsch speakers are famous for their sensitivity, which means you get a lot more out of them per watt of input than most any other speaker. 65wpc will be plenty for your Synergy speakers, as long as those 65 watts are pretty clean, have enough current in the amp to back them up, and you don't need to drive every living thing within a 5 block radius out of its home! Invidiosulus
The 65 watts that my yamaha puts out is plenty loud ony my heresy's which have the same sensitivity as the SF-2's. I run out of the house before the amp runs out of juice. Peace, Josh
