Stovebolt6
How do Rotel amps stack up against the other favorites?
Deang
I've always liked the Rotel amps, but I've always liked them for their treble. I know they make a couple of monsters that really grind out the bass -- but almost any high powered amp will do that. Where are you crossing over with your horns? Got a dollar figure in mind? How do you feel about buying used?
Stovebolt6
The cross will be at 500Hz. I will definately be buying used, the budget is tight. I would like to be under $300 if possible.
Deang
You can also pick up a used Adcom GFA-555 for around that amount. It would be my choice.
rigma
You might consider a Crown DC 300 Series II, better yet two of them each in mono, and each as close to the individual speaker as possible with 10 ga. cable. High power and very high dampining factor and slew rate. MB
Stovebolt6
The woofers are 16ohm rated at 75watts. 105dB 1W/1M Is there a risk of damage from too much power with some of these 200+W amps?
