Gilbert Posted July 12, 2003 Share Posted July 12, 2003 Hi Dean: Based on what I've read, your are correct about mixing the Boiled Linseed Oil with Mineral Spirits. I recently learned that the first coat should be a mixture of 60% BLO to 40% MS. After that they (Fine Wood Worker Website) recommend following up with pure BLO. I don't know about that paste wax though. My once sticky speakers (Back Away Geo1) now look like-new, with excellent grain detail, a very smooth surface and a natural looking wood shine finish. That 600grit workout really paid off. As for my screw up creating those sticky spot, I learned from my mistake. It won't happen again.
