specialized
I've heard that for good home theater sound that all speakers must be the same brand. The guy at Ultimate Electronics that sold me my Klipsch speakers said they should be the same brand and line. I was looking at synergy level front speakers - which I bought (SF2) and then wound up buying reference level rear speakers. )salesman didn't mention his same brand/line rule at that point). Anyway, is this bad or does it create any problems or delineate from the ideal? Thanks
prodj101
I would say you'll be fine if it's only the rear speakers that are different. what you really don't want is to have the center differen't from the mains, than you get timbre difference problems, and it will be very noticeable. PhilMays
I would also add that even though you have two different series of speakers, they are still Klipsch. They will timber match better from series to series than say moving to a different product with different "waves".
Deang
Actually, Synergy and Reference are so totally different in sonic signature, that for all intents and purposes they could have been made by two different companies. Prodj is right. Your situation isn't as critical as would be if you didn't have the front three matched up.
