New Cornwalls

Hi,

I recently recieved my cornwalls from fini

(great packing job Fini).

They are now set up in my office where I assembled

a predominately tube system on the cheap:

Dynaco FM-3 tube tuner

Dynaco PAS-2 tube Preamp

Antique Sound Lab av-8s tube amps

Cornwall speakers

Go Video - dvd/CD/mp3 player

They are my first set of cornwalls and they sound marvelous. I relied heavily on postings from the

forum for my purchase of the cornwalls and my first

foray into the "tube" world.

This is a great forum.

Thanks everyone,

- Lee

Congrats on a great system. While I haven't heard your specific amps, tubes and Cornwalls are an impressive combination which you will enjoy for a long time. Now just wait until the upgrade bug hits. All the forum members know I am not kidding! 9.gif

So do you have the Cornwall Vault II that Fini constructed still? The other one is temporarily in for service/inspection. Might my brother in law Gilbert use it? We need to get it to Boston, MA as soon as possible. Please let me know. Thanks.

Thanks for the congrats and your accurate prediction.

I wanted to see what a stock Dynaco pre-amp sounded like first.

I am already thinking of buying a heavily modded (?) Dynaco PAS-3

from Curcio Audio (AKA the Dynaco Doctor). Even though it

costs more than a new Antique Sound labs tube pre-amp, I want

to go for the retro look with my office system and I have

read good things about how they sound when modded.

After that I was thinking of getting a set of ALK crossovers

for it. If I can get someone to build them at a reasonable

price I may have a set made for my home speakers (Heresys).

So, you are right, the up-grade bug has already hit.
