Dflip
Any thoughts about using a Harmony bypass cap to bypass the Hovland 2.0 uF cap on the Cornwall B network? Al K bypasses the Solen fastcaps on his ALK B network, but not the Hovland. I have previously replaced the original caps with a Hovland 2.0 uF, another polypropylene 4.0 uF and the inductors with Solen solid wire, 12 awg. It really improved the sound, but as with many of us here, I keep reading, enquiring and trying to get the best out of what I have. Some of my reading suggests that bypass caps can be helpful in helping improve the response of the tweeter and high end. Anyone tried this or have any experience or suggestion with trying this? Harmony makes a .22 uF and a 1.0 uF bypass cap, which one if any should I try? Don
Deang
There is no reason for you to bypass -- you're already using one of the best film and foils money can buy. Caulk those lenses
Dflip
Thanks for the response Dean. The lenses were caulked after reading your comments earlier in the year. Although I don't have as much caulk on the throats of the squawker as you do. Don
Deang
Horns should not produce sound, only reproduce it -- pile that caulk on, and take it all the way to the motorboard.
