chambers1517
I have a Sony HDTV satellite reciever and dvd player which I am running through a Sony reciever with component video.I am then feeding a projector. The reciever says it has 80mhz component switching. I am wanting to buy a Denon reciever to replace the Sony. The Denon has 100mhz component switching. I was wondering if this Is going to cause any issues.

PAR69
My guess is that the 80 and 100 refer to the bandwidth of the video signal the receivers pass.
DrPyro
The MHz that they state for the inputs are indeed the bandwidth of the connectors, wiring, & filters (if present)in the component. The numbers that I have seen for the minimium bandwidth for 1080i is 35Mhz, so either reciever should be perfectly fine passing/switching HDTV. Components with different bandwiths won't cause any problems per say, your system will simply be limited by the lowest bandwith component in the chain. What you are most likely thinking of is impeadence missmatches, they can cause problems with signal transfers. Don't worry, the new reciever will be fine. -Dave
Malcolm
Either should be fine. AFAIK nobody is producing programming requiring more than about 35 MHz bandwidth, regardless of what any of the HDTV formats might be capable of carrying.
