Jeff G
Need to wall mount rs35s. What products are out there that fit the threaded insert and hold the 10 lbs?
WS65711
I mounted my RS35's with a single screw, using the mounting slot at the center/top on the rear side of the enclosure. That worked fine for me. Just be sure that the screw hits something solid when you drive it in. Dave
dougdrake
www.omnimount.com has some units that will work, also.
Jeff G
Thanks. My plan is to route speaker cable thru walls out to these RS35s. I also may have a need to tilt these speakers...which is why I'm looking at these ball mount designs vs screw. Any experience in routing speaker cable? Jeff G
Does anybody know the thread size on the backside of RS35s? Bought Omnimount 20.0 speaker mounts today. Their 3/8" - 16 insert was too big a diameter. Klipsch site had no spec data. Thanks
dougdrake
From/to where do you need to run speaker wire? What's the surface? Is there overhead access?
Jeff G
From receiver back through the wall then down to the crawl space then underneath the floor to other side of the room then up and out thru that wall...basically burying all speaker cable. endover
I just did something similar with my RS35's this past weekend. I'm in Florida so I have no basement but I did spend a good 4 or 5 hours in my attic. You have to get any attic work done long before Summer shows up around here. It will easily climb to 140F up there. Anyway...I got three, 12 inch locking drill extensions at Harbor Freight for not too much moolah and locked them together and drilled some 1" dia. holes down thru my attic and walls for cable routing. It worked great! Now I'm looking for some speaker cloth to match the living room decor(to keep my other half happy). I have yet to hang the RS35's 'cause I haven't had a chance to listen and determine how high I can go up the wall and still hear them(over my Chorus II's up front). The higher I go means they'll be less visible and therefore the wife will be happier if you know what I mean!
richr8
The thread size is 1/4-20. I mounted mine with 1/4-20 eye bolts and turnbuckles in the corners. Very simple, effective, and cheap
MarvinG
When mounting the RS 35 flush against the wall, I assume one cannot and should not use plugs (as they'd extend into the wall), so does one typically just use bare wire, or spades? Also, the manual refers to the use of backpanel keyholes (or the threaded insert), but does not show where the keyholes are. It only shows the domed rubber feet. Where are the keyholes and how many are there? My Rs-35s are on their way...just trying to prepare!
