Rdog
Hey if any of you have last years Toshiba 50HX82 HDTV. I have found that Toshiba is willing to trade it out for the 51HX83(this years model) for 400 dollars delivered to your front door. The reason for this is that last years model does not have the dvi input and the new model does.
Griffinator
That's a remarkably aggressive promo. Too bad Mitsi won't do something like this for all their no-DVI TV's.

Griffinator
DVI is Digital Video Interface. It's a full-bandwidth uncompressed HD spec digital signal transfer protocol that's encryptable. The new blu-ray DVD players are coming with DVI outputs, as are a lot of HD receivers. Do a search on this forum, you'll hear some of my misgivings about the format vs. component video, but in the case of HD DVD, that's the only way you can get it. Griffinator
Sony adopted the standard very early on - of course, that's because they had a direct hand in developing the standard. Toshiba, Mitsubishi, and a number of other companies waited until 2003 model years to start including DVI ports in their HDTV's - primarily out of concern over which digital specifications would actually take hold and which ones would fizzle.
