Brian Bowles Posted May 3, 2004 Share Posted May 3, 2004 I have an old set of 4.1s. Actually they were the model before that until I got the new pod several years back. They have served me well. I thought the amount of bass was real good until I got dual svs subs in the other room. Now I was wondering............ Could I add a powered sub to this? If not could I just hook up an amp and power the satelites? Then I could have a sub out on the reciever. What would be the best route. I just need more bass. jackson_ngo Posted May 4, 2004 Share Posted May 4, 2004 i've added an additional sub, i connected the sub to the headphone jack on the preamp. using RCA to stereo mini jack. The 4.1 does't cancel out even if the headphone jack is in use, U need to mute the speaker with the stand-by switch. Ask the others 4.1 users if u does't believe it. Otherwise it will play out of the speakers too. Only the 2.1's will automatically stop playing the sound. I'm guessing you own the 2.1's not the 4.1's?
