Daddy Dee
It can be somewhat disconcerting to see really slick e-mail and website spoofs on PayPal and Ebay. However, I did get a laugh today when I got one from a sender who had apparently failed Hacking 101... There was a typo in the subject line (which is inserted below) "Important Inforamtion Regarding Your Ebay Account" And the little red "x" boxes where the graphics would have been if they had not failed to load. I'm pretty sure that in Hackers 101, they at least tell the little darlings they should test the e-mail by sending it to themselves and maybe even having a grown up (who can read and write English) proof read it for errors. BTW, I did forward it to Ebay Security at spoof@ebay.com and got the usual "it didn't come from us" "we are investigating to take further action." Does anyone know if Ebay or PayPal have ever been able to bring any real world consequences to these creeps?
