avman Posted July 18, 2001 Share Posted July 18, 2001 both dishnetwork and directv offer receivers w/digital outputs. there is a decent amount of dolby digital movies out there, stars is the most consistent provider of dd movie material, and everything else comes through as pcm stereo. avman. They do run a higher price, but if you are a first-time subscriber, there are some great deals on the internet (Check Yahoo Shopping for starters). If you are a current subscriber, you may have a hard time finding good sale price. Has the digital out, not a great amount of digital movies or channels but I'll settle for some rather than nothing! The remote is GREAT, rf output. Alot of channel assingments available too.
