I'am going to buy a pair of klf30 and one klfc-7. What is the most homogeneous with this system ? I was thinking about ksps-6 rears or RS-3/RS-5 ? but for surround ?? RB-5 ? RB-3 ? klf10 (much expensive) ?

thanks for your suggest...

ps: sorry for my poor english cwm36.gif

Bonjour, Gandalf! I love petanque, I love my tranquility and I love KLF 30's... as you can see below. For some time, I ran KLF 30 mains, KLF C-7 center, and three KLF 10's (side/surrounds and rear effects)... and was delighted. But when it comes to the Legend series, nothing does as well (in my experience) as six discretely fed Legends... plus a couple of KLF 10's for front effects.

Klipsch WDST technology helps with the acoustic challenges of smaller rooms and popular (but outmoded) ProLogic source material.

For me, however, matching tone & timbre so that a sound moving from back-to-front does not shift in character as it moves about the room... and that requires something that more closely resembles your main speakers. I haven't tried it but I wonder how C-7's might do as side surrounds and rear effects... since they do so well as a center with KLF 30's?

For nearly five years I lived, studied, worked and thoroughly enjoyed "la belle vie" when "Le Grande Charles" forecast the deluge upon his demise.

Thanks for your comments,

In fact, i will upgrade my Myryad MDP500 to 7.1 channel and for instance my room is small (5m*4m) so with klf30 and c-7 i was thinking one pair of ksps6 (very difficult to find in France) and one pair of (RB-3 or RB-5).They have the same tone (coloration) ?

I will plainty enjoy my HT when i'l have a bigger room but now i have to make a choice for the back. And most important find it cwm33.gif

to read you.

ps: question of price... pair of klf10 : ~1100$ pair of ksps6 ~800$ ouch !!

gandalf, the S-6's are extremely hard to find here.If I COULD find you a pair here in the USA,I would be uneasy about shipping them to you.Best if I just hand delivered them to you,and after traveling so,so,far I would probably be too tired to leave immediately.Would need to stay about a week and rest up.If you'll work on the suite for my stay and airfare(round trip of course)I'll be getting the S-6's out of my closet, uhhh,

I mean I'll start looking for your new pair of S-6's.

Deal????

I've seen reference from Klipsch suggesting that the new RS 7 surrounds are superior to the S6's for rears with the Legends even though the S6's are great speakers.

I have 30's front and KSF S5's A.rear and also KLF 10's B.rear. I agree with HornEd, More Legends are the best.

T-T-K it-s a joke isnt it ??

I mean Alabama is far from Paris :-)

I can find probably S6 in Belgium. Is it ok to mix s6 and rb or better take only Legend serie s6 and klf10 ?

The difference in term of qualite/price is better for wich association ?

I notice several technical points :

surround bookshelf RB-5 96dB 48-20kHz 150W

RB-3 94dB 52-20kHz 100W

KLF10 98dB 32-20kHz 150W

rears dipoles RS-3 95dB 49-20kHz 110W

RS-7 98dB 49-20kHz 150W

KSP-S6 94dB 60-20kHz 150W

i'll receive my klf30 + c7 next sunday ... keen sunday !

read you sooncwm1.gif

Keith

My room isn't big to much to take large surround and i am living in appartement not a quite house( at the 4th floor ) so with the klf30 it's enought for the 'voisinage' cwm35.gif

what do you think about 4 ksps6 (if i could find it !!) ?

good night... time to sleep for me. :-)

I'm trying to (quickly) get my hands on a system with KLF-30s for the fronts, KLF-C7 for center, and can't decide on KLF-10 or RF-3 for the rears.

I'm thinking the KLF10 should be a better match for the fronts, yes?

And I don't think I can use a more typical rear speaker, because side-wall mounting isn't practical. I expect to mount/place the rears behind the listener, in the corners of the room, toed in...

Thanks,

Darren

darren, that's how i have my cornwalls on the rear short wall & it works excellent. i set the rears:large

to get those 15"s working for some rear directional bass.

had the cornwalls 1st though & they won't work in the front of the room. so the only direct rear towers better for u than the 10s would be the 20s or 30s.

i'd get the 30s - should be some good closeout prices on all of em right now.

Well, i've thinking my future Klipsch configuration all night long ... and i notice another problem :

i will upgrade to 6.1dts and 7.1dd for my mdp500 so what choice for back(surround) effect ?

Ok to choose ksps6 for rears but i read on forum that rs7+rb3/rb5 is the best choice

ksps6 and rb3/rb5 shoud be ok too ??

my system: sony1271 with pcht (dsub15-5bnc mogami) and optical cable to preamp Myryad mdp500. DIY screen (2.4m*1.35 16/9) 3 Nad 214 power amp HarmanKardon avr300 for pseudo-6.1 Sherwood sp212 for subwoofer

Hi Gang

My vote would be for the New RS-7

They might not be a perfect timber match for a

very well trained ear (mine excluded) but the gain in

absolute performance is well worth the perceived

minimal timber missmatch to the Legend Series

KSPS-6 vs RS-7 no contest RS-7
