D-MAN
If you are going to veneer, then DO NOT APPLY any oil to the surface! As you suspect, it will defininately cause problems with the glue. DM
klipschaholik
I would agree that straight BLO works well without thinning. Rub it in, let it soak and rub it off. I also used a 00 steel wool between coats to smooth the finish further. Check out my thread on veneering heresy. "heresy veneering project". Since I did that project I've refinished a pair of HWO heresy's and am about to start on a pair of la scalas. This stuff isn't 'rocket science'. Have fun with it, that's what I did. tillmbil
Thanks for all the advice. Work's IT department came up with a new website blocker called Websense and wiped out my leisure time viewing from work. Put on one coat with a rag. Sounds like I now have a lot of additional coats to add and some sand paper to buy. Well, just another weekend project I will post pictures when done. Thanks to all

Tom Mobley
I admin unix proxy servers running WebSense an a large (very large) enterprise data center. You would not believe the stuff that people try to access from their work computers. It's amazing to look over the logs. everything from Neo-Nazi hate sites to kiddie porn. Not to mention "regular" porn. Would you think it appropriate to be doing internet gambling from your work computer? These people nuts. Since getting this admin job I've completely lost sympathy for people complaining about getting blocked.
