Tom Mobley
hmmmm, those 15" eminence cone kits are quite attractively priced. But, how do you know which one applies to the k-33?
BEC
Tom, I don't think there will be an "exact" kit for the K-33E. At least that is what Eminence told me. They said that some parts (most notibly the VC) is only made for Klipsch and that they would only sell it to Klipsch. There may be, of course, a kit that is close enough. The genuine kits are available from Klipsch. Bob Crites

djk
"hmmmm, those 15" eminence cone kits are quite attractively priced. But, how do you know which one applies to the k-33?" Those kits are for Eminence drivers custom made for Martin (and the Alpha/Beta/Kapa stuff). They will fit any Eminence frame with the same coil diameter, but then they will have the same specs as the original Martin drivers did (some of which were quite good). They do not have the 15162 kit, AFAIK only Image and Klipsch do. Image requires a franchise, and about a $3500 order to open (but a 15162 kit is only about $15 after that). Martin requires a $500 order to open, and $50 after that. If you have a real business (tax ID and a copy of your phone book ad) Martin will give a deep trade discount beyond what is listed on line (as much as 10%~40% depending on the item).
