dyphototeacher
I'm making an attempt at getting into HT on a budget. (One piece at a time.) Mostly looking at good used equipment. Any advice on the purchase of a used Acurus A125x5. Is service still available on these amps? Anything I should watch out for? Is there authorized service in the Toronto, Canada area? Any assistance is appreciated. Mark
itsmyforte
acurus make some sweet sounding amps. i'd go for it. they can still be serviced if need be, but they are rock solid performers and built like a tank. don't know about authorized service in canada though, i thought all mondial equptment was sent to the same place for service in the USA. T2K
I've owned an Acurus 100X3 around 9 years and a 125X5 for about 3 years, never a problem with either. You might call Klipsch Customer Service with your question. Keith
InventiveAudio.com
Hi, I used to own this amp and thought it was a good performing amplifier. Howver, the sound is very analytical and I didn't think it had the warmth to comliment my Klipsch speakers. I also heard a difference for HT when I switched from the Acurus to 5 monoblocks. I would look into B&K too. Their amps are much warmer IMHO. Good luck.

Mike Lindsey
I'm running a A200X3 to drive my front soundstage (La Scala's, KLF-C7) for HT use, and no compalints with it. Seems to perform better than my Denon 4800, but I really have nothing else to compare it too. Can't hold a candle to my VRD's for 2-channel use.
