mtber101
Does anyone know of some kind of software that would help me in speaker placement and room treatments? Maybe even some the uses a Mic to help set crossover etc... Thanks for your time.
ironwoods
Hi, Is it a PC based system? No system in profile? I'd think there's too many variables to have a database that could lay out the optimum placement, but Digital Video Essentials, an SPL meter, a large mirror, a friend or two, a case of beer and a garbage pizza is an option for day one. http://www.videoessentials.com/ Refer to the OEM's suggestions? George Cardas also has some info on set-up. http://www.cardas.com/cgi-bin/main_content.cgi?area=Insights&content_id=26&pagestring=Room+Setup
mtber101
Hey thanks for the info. My "system" right now is just a set of promedia ultas and a 20" tv. All hooked up to my pc.
Griffinator
There are a number of PC software/hardware combinations that will help you with room optimizations. What you have to decide is whether you're willing to take the total plunge into speaker systems before you do this. ProMedia, while incredibly good for computer speakers, is not a destination in home theater, it's merely a step along the path. Believe me, the path is long, and the destination is unimaginable to the uninitiatied.
