avman
ok,without looking at the sites, i'll take a stab at it. dd and dts are both digital audio formats that provide 5.1 distinct channels of information (sound) for your listening environment. i believe that dts has been around longer, and there are dts 5.1 ch cd's also (for music).there is less 'compression' of data for the dts format, which is good and bad...good because the less you compress, the less you have to 'un-compress' so on paper dts should sound better, bad because it takes up more space. dd is a mandated audio format for hd tv, so on (ie) digital satellite you get some dd shows, both on hd and non-hd channels. last note: i've encountered dd in mono and 2-ch ONLY, w/no 5.1 available, i have yet to encounter dts in less than 5.1 ch. hope this helps.avman. ------------------ 1-pair klf 30's c-7 center sony strda-777ES receiver dishnetwork model 7200 dishplayer satellite receiver/digital bitstream recorder pioneer dvd player sharp 35"tv panamax max dbs+5 surge protector/power conditioner monster cable interconnects/12 gua.speaker wire surrounds and a 'teens sub coming! Klipsch-daddy
Night and day difference.. Dolby digital is good but compaired to DTS it sucks in my opion. I have 3 dvd's that are DTS and they sound much better that the dolby digital. But you got to have a dvd player that has dts on it.
