larrymaher
I am interested in these 2 and am not sure I can justify the extra money for the latest 3805. If i can get a 3803 for about 1/2 the price of the 3805, would i miss the extra 10 watts per channel? I am not a "feature crazy" person so I am trying to save a little money. thanks for the help in deciding.
dougdrake
IMO, no, you won't miss the 10wpc. If the lower cost unit has all the features you need for now and the immediate future, save your $$. Remember, it takes double the wattage to gain 3db in volume. Unless there's a large difference in other aspects of the devices (power supplies, DAC quality, etc...), the 2 will likely sound identical to you. gcoker
I agree...you have to decide if the savings are worth it. To me at 50% it is. When I bought my TV the XBR700 series the 800 series were out. The 800 had DVI input along with a memory stick slot. I weighted the 500 price difference and decided to take the 700 series. Mort Corey
The 3805 has an additional component input (3) which might be worthwhile and the auto-setup funtion, which you may or may not use. The remote control differences are a love it or hate it choice. Mort
mandi
This is the main reason I want the 3805 True 3 Source, 3 Zone functionality with discrete power, Source Select and volume control for each zone Living room, family room and outside
dr-dezibel
Get the new as there will be no "what if..."
Pako
Can't say much for the 3803, but I can say I LOVE my 3805! Good luck, ~Cheers
