cambrosi
With my current system I can't push the bass through the SW. I thought I would be able to do this with "bass management"? Maybe I don't have that?
Ray Garrison
uh, we need a bit more detail, guy... What do you have. What are you trying to do. How are you trying to do it. What do you want to happen. What is happening.
cambrosi
Sony receiver DA500ES, Marantz DVD 8400, 4-RB75s, 1-RC7,1-RSW15. Everything works fine, except when I play 2 channel SACD; (multichannel SACD works fine) the subwoofer just doesn't get signal. The receiver needs to be in multi-channel mode to activate the 6 analog cables; no problem I connect with 6 analog cables; all channels work. Only 2ch-SACD doesn't route to my Sub. To Clarify: I'm saying the 2ch SACD media is the common thread; it is the only media that doesn't route to the sub
WS65711
I have a different receiver, but I'll test mine when I get home tonight. I only have one SACD, and it is 2-ch Stereo. Do you have your speakers set as LARGE or as SMALL? Does your receiver have a PLUS setting for the sub output?

WS65711
Ok, I listened to my Aerosmith (2-Channel Stereo) SACD. It's the only SACD that I have. On my system, I have all of my speakers set to SMALL, so my subs handle all of the bass. When I played the SACD, the subs are definately putting out bass that I can hear, as well as feel by lightly touching the subwoofer cones. My receiver displays "SACD Stereo" as the mode, and I can't select any other mode as far as I can tell. I use an iLink connection from my DVD/SACD player to my receiver. So, it CAN be done. But whether or not your receiver can do it is another question. Dave
artto
If you're running this through an audio/video receiver it will depend on how you have your receiver setup, for "large" or "small" speakers. Even then, not sure (may depend on the receiver), but the sub/low frequency bass management may only work when it's in multi-channel mode. DrWho
If all else fails, you can always just hook your sub up through the main outs on the reciever and let it handle it's own crossover and all that.
steelie
In my rig, the receiver's settings don't matter when I play SACD/DVD-A because the signal bypasses the receiver's circuitry through the analog cables. The small/large setting has to be done with the player's setup menu, otherwise the sub will turn on only if the SACD is encoded with an LFE signal.
